Ian Obus Siderits, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Meredith College and a Lecturer in Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at North Carolina State University (Ph.D., Industrial-Organizational Psychology; North Carolina State University, 2026). He also co-chairs the education committee within the Nature and Health Alliance. Guided by kindness, curiosity, and a desire to zealously support those around him, his core philosophy is to create a better world of work, one that adds years onto people’s lives rather than taking years away.

His research focuses on workplace nature contact and biophilic workspace design (strategically bringing nature into the workplace) for health and thriving within organizations, alongside complementary interests in employee well-being, environmental design, and relational dynamics such as organizational citizenship behaviors and employee trust. He frequently chairs the “Biophilia Effect” symposium series focusing on nature in the workplace and has chaired symposia and presented work at diverse academic and practitioner venues, including the Academy of Management (AOM), the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), the Society for Occupational Health Psychology (SOHP), the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), and many more.
